Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.
