Ingredients

Rinse the green moong dal and rice thoroughly under running water. Soak them together in water for at least 4-6 hours or overnight.

Drain the soaked dal and rice, and blend them into a smooth batter using a little water. The batter should be of pouring consistency, similar to pancake batter.

Add salt to taste and mix well. Let the batter ferment for 4-6 hours in a warm place.

Once fermented, add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, and cumin seeds to the batter. Mix well.
