In a pot, bring 500ml of water to a boil. Gradually add the ragi flour while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and forms a smooth dough. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

Once cooked, shape the dough into balls using wet hands. Set aside.

Rinse the red lentils thoroughly and cook them in a pot with 300ml of water until they are soft. This should take about 15-20 minutes.

In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and let them splutter.

Add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies, and cook until the tomatoes are soft.
