1Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the diced onions, carrots, and celery to the saucepan and sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
Add the rinsed basmati rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with the butter and vegetables.
Pour in the chicken broth and add the salt. Stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
