Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix the beef broth, soy sauce, and black pepper.
In another small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a little bit of water to make a slurry.
Return the steak to the skillet and pour the beef broth mixture over the steak and vegetables.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
