Ingredients

Rinse the green moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.

Drain the water and grind the soaked dal into a smooth paste using a little water if necessary.

In a mixing bowl, combine the moong dal paste, yogurt, ginger paste, green chili paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add the baking soda and lemon juice to the mixture and stir gently to incorporate air into the batter.

Grease a steaming plate or tray with a little oil and pour the batter into it.

Heat water in a steamer and place the plate with the batter inside. Steam for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
