Ingredients

Rinse the rice and toor dal together under running water until the water runs clear.

In a pressure cooker, add the rinsed rice and toor dal with 4 cups of water. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until both are soft and mushy.

In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of ghee over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Add curry leaves and dried red chilies to the pan and sauté for a few seconds.

Add chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.

Add chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft.

Add the mixed vegetables and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Add bisi bele bath powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add tamarind pulp and 1 cup of water. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are cooked.
