Dry roast the semolina (rava) in a pan on medium heat until it turns light golden brown. Set aside.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.

Add urad dal and chana dal. Fry until they turn golden brown.

Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.
