Ingredients
- Katla fish500 g
- Potatoes2 medium
- Onions2 medium
- Tomatoes2 medium
- Ginger paste1 tablespoon
- Garlic paste1 tablespoon
- Green chilies2 pieces
- Turmeric powder1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder1 teaspoon
- Garam masala1 teaspoon
- Mustard oil4 tablespoons
- Saltto taste
- Fresh coriander leavesfor garnish

Clean and cut the Katla fish into pieces. Marinate with a pinch of turmeric powder and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.

Peel and cut the potatoes into halves. Slice the onions and tomatoes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of mustard oil in a pan. Fry the marinated fish pieces until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add the remaining mustard oil. Fry the potatoes until they are golden brown. Remove and set aside.

In the same oil, add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, and green chilies. Sauté for a couple of minutes.

Add the sliced tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the oil separates from the masala.

Add the fried potatoes and mix well with the masala.

Add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Add the fried fish pieces and garam masala. Cook for another 5 minutes until the fish is cooked through and the gravy thickens.
