1Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Form the lean ground beef into 4 equal patties.
Grill the bacon slices until crispy, then set aside.
Grill the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of gouda cheese on each patty to melt.
Toast the whole wheat hamburger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.
Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.
Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayonnaise.
Add a grilled beef patty with melted gouda cheese on top of the lettuce.
Place a slice of crispy bacon on top of the cheese.
Add a slice of tomato on top of the bacon.
Drizzle BBQ sauce over the tomato.
Cover with the top half of the bun.
