1In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and the egg.
Mix the ingredients together until a dough begins to form. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Gradually add the butter, a little at a time, kneading well after each addition until fully incorporated.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to
5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Punch down the dough to release the air, then divide it into equal portions and shape each portion into a bun.
Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover them with a towel, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the tops of the buns with a little milk or beaten egg for a glossy finish.
Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
