Rinse the foxtail millet and mixed dal thoroughly under running water and soak them together for about 15-20 minutes.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
