Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Soak the bread in half of the milk (1/2 cup) and set aside.

In a large pan, sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned.

Squeeze the milk from the bread and add the bread to the meat mixture. Reserve the milk.

Add the curry powder, sugar, vinegar, raisins, grated apple, slivered almonds, chutney, turmeric, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture. Stir well to combine.
