1Rinse the toor dal thoroughly and soak it in water for about 30 minutes.
In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal and 4 cups of water. Cook until the dal is soft and mushy.
In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of oil. Add water gradually to form a smooth dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
Roll out the dough into thin sheets and cut into small diamond or square shapes to make the dhokli.
In a large pot, heat the remaining oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and the cooked dal to the pot. Stir well.
Add 4 more cups of water, jaggery, and salt to taste. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Gently add the dhokli pieces into the boiling dal. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Cook on medium heat until the dhokli is cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
Add lemon juice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Daal Dhokli.
