Penne with Tomato Sauce and Lemon

Preparación

1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. 2

While the pasta is cooking, finely chop the onion and garlic.

3. 3

In a large pan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.

4. 4

Add the tomato sauce to the pan and stir well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

5. 5

Zest the lemon and add the zest to the sauce. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the sauce, being careful to remove any seeds.

6. 6

Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

7. 7

Add the cooked penne to the sauce and toss to coat the pasta evenly.

8. 8

Serve hot, garnished with additional lemon zest or fresh herbs if desired.
