Peel and grate the potatoes and carrots. Place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess moisture.

Roughly chop the cooked, peeled chestnuts and finely chop the bacon.

In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, grated carrots, chopped chestnuts, chopped bacon, and flour.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
