1Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions, each weighing approximately 1/4 lb.
Shape each portion into a patty, making sure they are slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink during cooking.
Season each patty with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the sesame seed buns on the grill or in a toaster.
Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun.
Top each patty with diced onions, sliced pickles, a dollop of ketchup, and a dollop of mustard.
Place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve immediately.
