Rinse the chana dal thoroughly and cook it in a pressure cooker with enough water until it becomes soft. Drain any excess water.

In a pan, add the cooked chana dal and jaggery. Cook on medium heat until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. Stir continuously to avoid burning.

Add the grated coconut to the dal-jaggery mixture and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Let the mixture cool down completely.

In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon of ghee. Add water gradually and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
