2Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the self-rising flour and milk to the mixture, alternating between the two, and mix until well combined.
Gently fold in the mandarin oranges, including the juice from the can.
Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
