Ingredients
- ground lamb400 g
- ground beef200 g
- panko breadcrumbs1 cup
- eggs2 large
- Sechuan chili flakes1 tbsp
- smoked paprika1 tbsp
- garlic powder1 tsp
- onion powder1 tsp
- Marsala wine0,5 cup
- maple syrup2 tbsp
- olive oil1 tbsp
- salt0,5 tsp
- black pepper0,5 tsp
- chopped parsley2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, eggs, Sechuan chili flakes, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley.
- 3
Mix all ingredients thoroughly by hand or with a spatula until well combined, but do not overmix.
- 4
Shape the mixture into a loaf (about 20cm long) and place it on the prepared baking tray.
- 5
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the top of the meatloaf.
- 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F) and the top is nicely browned.
- 7
While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the spicy Marsala drizzle: In a small saucepan, combine Marsala wine and maple syrup. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and let it reduce by half, about 8-10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- 8
Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- 9
Slice the meatloaf and arrange on a platter. Drizzle generously with the spicy Marsala reduction.
- 10
Garnish with extra chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
