1Cut the boneless skinless chicken breast into
5 cm (1 inch) cubes and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped basil, chopped thyme, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, black pepper, salt, sugar, Dijon mustard, Maggi all purpose seasoning, and lemon pepper seasoning.
Add the chicken cubes to the bowl and toss well to coat all pieces evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to overnight for best flavor).
While the chicken is marinating, soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning (if using metal skewers, skip this step).
Thread the marinated chicken cubes and onion chunks alternately onto the skewers.
Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates.
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve hot, garnished with extra chopped cilantro or basil if desired.
