Ingredients
- all-purpose flour2 cups
- finely chopped onions1 cup
- green peas0,5 cup
- cumin seeds1 teaspoon
- garam masala1 teaspoon
- red chili powder1 teaspoon
- saltto taste
- vegetable oil1 tablespoon
- wateras needed
- oil for fryingas needed
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Add water gradually and knead to form a smooth and firm dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- 2
In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 3
Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- 4
Add the green peas, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the peas are tender. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
- 5
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin oval shape.
- 6
Cut the oval in half to form two semi-circles. Take one semi-circle and fold it into a cone shape, sealing the edge with a little water.
- 7
Fill the cone with the onion and pea mixture, then seal the top edge with water to form a triangle.
- 8
Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
- 9
Heat oil for frying in a deep pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the samosas and fry until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 10
Remove the samosas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
